For regular mopping as well as dust collection

The L40 Ultra Gen 2 combines vacuuming, spinning mops and a dock that empties dust, washes the pads and dries them with warm air. Its practical advantage over a simple auto-empty model is handling more of the repeated mop-care routine. Decide whether that work matters to you before paying for a larger station.

Dreame advertises 25,000 Pa, an extending side brush and mop, a 3.2 L dust bag, and 10.5 mm of mop lift. These are manufacturer specifications, not measured cleaning results from RobotsHabitat. A suction number does not establish that every carpet will be cleaned well, and a lifting distance does not establish compatibility with every rug pile.

Check the whole cleaning setup

Leave room to lift out the water tanks, refill clean water and empty dirty water. The dock reduces pad-handling tasks but still has a tray, tanks and moving parts to maintain. Consider where you can perform that work without carrying dripping tanks through several rooms.

Check rug settings and exclusion zones in the manual and app. High-pile rugs and sensitive floors need an individual compatibility check. An extending mop targets edges, but you should still expect occasional manual cleaning around awkward furniture and corners. Prepare loose cords and small objects before a scheduled run.

Match the dock to your routine

For mostly carpeted rooms or occasional damp wiping, the simpler D20 Air Plus may already cover the job that takes most of your time. For frequent hard-floor mopping, compare what the L40’s mop-care dock removes from your routine and what maintenance it adds.
